Esquina Triumphs in Four-Team Tournament & Prepares for Upcoming Challenges
On January 17th 2025, Esquina hosted an exciting four-team tournament, competing against Camposol, Los Amigos, and Cantoria. Each team played twice in a tightly contested battle, but Esquina emerged victorious, claiming the tournament title.
Looking ahead,
Esquina is set to host an even bigger challenge. On February 21st 2025 they will welcome seven other teams—Portobello, Formentera, Hondon VF, The Hub, Red Lion, CF La Romana, and San Fulgencio—for what promises to be a thrilling tournament filled with intense competition and exciting matchups.

Esquina Shows Promise in Competitive Tournament
On February 21st, Esquina competed in a fierce eight-team tournament, finishing 6th in a closely contested field. Despite the result, their performance was commendable, losing only four games by a narrow 1-0 margin, securing two wins, and drawing one.
Esquina showcased resilience, Their strong teamwork and determination earned respect, showcasing their ability to compete at a high level and remain a tough opponent. With valuable experience gained, Esquina is already looking ahead, eager to build on their solid foundation for future success.
Esquina Park Rangers walking football team achieved a commendable third-place finish in the Seniors Phil Kavanagh Memorial Tournament held on February 28, 2025. This annual tournament honors the memory of Phil Kavanagh, a passionate advocate for walking football, and attracts senior teams from across the region.
Esquina Park Rangers demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the competition, reflecting their dedication to promoting active lifestyles among seniors. March 13, 2024 – Mazarrón, Spain
Esquina Park Rangers Walking Football Club put in a strong performance at the Camposol W.F.C Over-50s Tournament, competing against 12 teams in a highly competitive event.
Despite a last-minute withdrawal from Murcia awarding E.P.R an early advantage, the team faced tough challenges throughout the group stage. They secured key victories against Condado and The Orange Bar, with standout performances from Andy H, Ed, and goalkeeper Aidie, who made a crucial penalty save.
In the 5th place playoff against Red Lion, E.P.R battled hard, leading for much of the game before being forced into a dramatic sudden death penalty shootout. Holding their nerve, they emerged victorious to secure a well-earned 5th place finish.
Congratulations to Wolves, the overall tournament winners, and a big thank you to Camposol Walking Football for hosting another fantastic event. E.P.R now looks ahead to their next challenge! ⚽👏

🔹 Camposol W.F.C Tournament – Mazarrón Trip
Our recent trip to Mazarrón for the Over-50s Camposol W.F.C Tournament was a great experience! With solid performances, some cracking goals, and a dramatic sudden-death penalty shootout win, we finished in 5th place out of 12 teams. A fantastic effort from everyone involved! ⚽👏
🔹 Big Win Against La Romana!
Esquina Rangers put on a dominant display against La Romana, securing a 7-3 victory in an action-packed game. The team showed great attacking intent, with goals flying in from all angles. A brilliant team performance! 💪⚽
🔹 Tough Derby Loss to Formentera
In a fiercely contested local derby, we came up short against Formentera, losing 2-0. Despite battling hard, we just couldn’t break through their defense. A frustrating result, but we’ll be ready for the rematch! 🔥
🔹 Narrow Defeat to La Marineros
A thrilling encounter against La Marineros ended in a 4-3 loss, but not without a fight! The game was end-to-end, with some fantastic football on display. A close call, but plenty of positives to take into our next matches.
APRIL
April Kicks Off in Style!
Esquina Park Rangers launched into April with a superb away win against a well-organised San Fulgencio side. Despite the hosts putting up a spirited fight, Esquina’s quality shone through, running out convincing 5–1 winners. A great all-round team performance — a reminder of what this squad is capable of when everything clicks.
The Hub Tournament – Fine Margins and Fresh Threads
Next up was The Hub Tournament, where Esquina debuted their brand new Adidas kit – a sleek and smart new look that turned plenty of heads.
The tournament itself was fiercely competitive, with most matches decided by a single goal. It proved to be a real test of concentration and composure, highlighting that at this level, success often comes down to the finest margins.
It was a fantastic display of team spirit, grit, and resilience — showing that Esquina are building a team ready to compete at any level.
Friendly Win Over Catral Walking Football
In the spirit of the game, Esquina Park Rangers also secured a friendly victory against Catral Walking Football.
The match was played in excellent spirits, reflecting the respectful and social nature that walking football is all about.
Catral, an improving side with plenty of promise, gave a good account of themselves, and both teams enjoyed a competitive yet friendly battle.
We look forward to many more positive matches against Catral in the future!
A Scorcher Against Stanway WFC!
April ended with the sun blazing down as Esquina Park Rangers hosted Stanway Walking Football Club in a thrilling encounter.
Stanway fought hard throughout, showing real quality with some sharp finishes of their own, but the heat took its toll late on as Esquina pulled away for an impressive 8–3 win.
Massive thanks to Phil and his team for making the trip, and to Barry Barnes for officiating the match with style.
The day finished in perfect fashion with both teams enjoying refreshments together at Bar Raquel 🍻.
April was a month full of positives — exciting performances, growing team chemistry, and plenty of goals. Onwards and upwards into May!

International Friendly Tournament Brings Excitement to Esquina Park
Esquina Park Rangers were proud to host a special international walking football tournament this May, welcoming two strong sides from Sweden – Sweden A and Sweden B – alongside our good friends and regular rivals, the Hondon Valley Flyers.
The Swedish teams were on tour as part of their preparations for the upcoming World Nations Cup, set to take place in October. Their visit brought high-quality, competitive football to Esquina Park and offered a great test for all involved.
Esquina Park Rangers put in strong performances throughout the day, playing with spirit and determination in every match. The tournament had a great mix of competitive action and mutual respect, with all four teams enjoying the experience and supporting each other throughout the day.
A big thank you goes out to Sweden A and B for travelling to join us, and to the Hondon Valley Flyers for their continued friendship and support. We’re proud to be part of a community that values fair play, inclusion, and international connection through sport.

Esquina Park Rangers Win Turre Tournament After Stunning Final Display
Esquina Park Rangers were crowned champions at the Turre walking football tournament after a strong finish saw them lift the trophy with a 2-0 win over Cove Yellow from Farnborough.
The squad battled through a competitive league stage, showing resilience and steady improvement. After edging into the semi-finals, Esquina came alive, stepping up their game with a sharp tactical performance to secure a place in the final.
Against a tough Cove Yellow side, Esquina dominated possession and struck twice to seal a well-earned victory. The final showcased the team’s discipline and attacking quality.
Captain Fred summed it up: “Once we got through the group, the belief was there. This win means a lot.”
It was a proud moment for the club, proving again that football played with integrity and teamwork can bring top results.
